Inside the World of Leslie Nielsen Young: What You Need to Know

Leslie Nielsen Young was a Canadian actor best known for his comedic roles in films such as Airplane! and The Naked Gun. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on February 11, 1926, and died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 28, 2010.

Nielsen began his acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in a number of television shows and films. He gained wider recognition in the 1970s for his role as Dr. Rumack in the disaster film Airport (1970). Nielsen’s comedic talents were showcased in the 1980 film Airplane! which became a huge commercial success and has since become a cult classic.

Nielsen continued to star in a number of comedic films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including The Naked Gun (1988), The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991), and The Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (1994). He also had a recurring role as the bumbling Lieutenant Frank Drebin in the television series Police Squad! (1982).
